Thor 2 considering directors Alan Taylor and Daniel Minahan
Both directors have feature films under their belts, Alan Taylor with Palookaville and Daniel Minahan with Series 7: The Contenders, but both are primarily known for their TV work. Alan Taylor has directed episodes of Mad Men, Nurse Jackie, and Boardwalk Empire, while Daniel Minahan has directed for True Blood, The Good Wife, and Grey's Anatomy. They have both directed episodes of the HBO series Game of Thrones.
Marvel is also searching for a new screenwriter to take over scripting duties on Thor 2. Sheldon Turner (X-Men: First Class), John Collee (Master and Commander: The Far Side Of The World), Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan), and Roger Avary (Pulp Fiction) are among the top candidates to rework the screenplay.
Thor 2 comes to theaters November 8th, 2013 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Alan Taylor.

They had a winning formula for Thor, if they scew up the next one, it's all on the studio.

Yeh, no offense, but they shouldn't be anywhere near this. GoT is mental.

Why they are choosing a directors who mostly did Dramas and TV shows? Get someone who was a fan of the comics and know a few thing or two about making an action/adventure movie.

Well, this is interesting, to say the least. Can't wait to see who gets pegged as screenwriter.

@shuabert Agreed. They all seem to be great credits to jot down, but it has it downfalls. Being good at directing dramas doesn't exactly mean you'll be great at doing the same with sci-fi.

Game of Thrones directors again. Come on, Marvel, settle on one of these guys. That show rocks.

Those are some nice credits, even if their feature films are unknown. It looks like Marvel is going for someone whose quality they believe in but someone they can also get for cheap. I'm ok with that.
