Thomas Sangster Is in Tintin

Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson might have found their Tintin, the young Belgian reporter who is the hero of Georges Remi's comic books, which Spielberg and Jackson are adapting into a performance-capture-based film trilogy.

London's Daily Mail reported that the lucky lad is 17-year-old British actor Thomas Sangster, who has appeared in Love Actually and Nanny McPhee and has a role in Jane Campion's "Bright Star," which is about to begin filming.

A DreamWorks spokesman declined comment during the weekend about the possible casting. But while specifics about the project have been kept under wraps, Andy Serkis, who is set to play Tintin's globe-trotting buddy, Captain Haddock, recently told IndieLondon that he is about to begin work on the back-to-back features, with Spielberg handling the first film and Jackson taking the directorial reigns for the second.

The Adventures of Tintin was released December 21st, 2011 and stars Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Jamie Bell, Cary Elwes, Andy Serkis, Nick Frost, Tony Curran, Sebastian Roché. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg.

Jackson and Spielberg might co-direct the third. A different story said that, or maybe James Cameron.
