Thomas Kretsch-mann (The Pianist) is about to sign on the dotted line to join Naomi Watts, Jack Black and Adrien Brody in the cast of Peter Jackson's remake of 1933's King Kong for Universal Pictures. Kretschmann will play the boat captain who transports the gigantic gorilla to the U.S.
Meanwhile, Kretschmann has also been cast as Dr. Frankenstein in Dean Koontz's Frankenstein for cable unit USA Network. It's in production already and being executive produced by Koontz with Martin Scorsese and Tony Krantz.

King Kong was released December 14th, 2005 and stars Naomi Watts, Jack Black, Adrien Brody, Thomas Kretschmann, Colin Hanks, Andy Serkis, Evan Parke, Jamie Bell. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.
