United International Pictures' Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit held on to the top spot at the international boxoffice during the weekend but faced rising competition from strong openings in various territories from Warner Bros. Pictures' Tim Burton's Corpse Bride and Buena Vista International's Flightplan.
The weekend also saw international debuts of Nanny McPhee and Doom. Wallace & Gromit grossed an estimated $15.7 million from 3,782 locations across 32 markets and saw seven openings during the period, including Belgium and Taiwan. It remained No. 1 in the U.K., grossing $8 million alone from 502 sites. Its estimated international cumulative total is now $29 million.
