Monkeyiron you miss the point! The Original Chipmunks Did spoof covers of classic songs. No more than what Weird Al Yankovic does. Their brand of humor was copied by The Monkees! It's meant to be wonderful nonsense. It's intended target audience was the parent, who knew all well the suffering of Dave, and the young kids, who saw what can happen to them if they miss-behave. You are too young, to get that kind of old school humor. You might get it in 20 years.

made my kids laugh... that's all i need to hear to want to take them and see it.
my only critques: (1) David Cross - again??! (can't stand his character in this franchise; glad he seems to only be in it for a bit); (2) lady gaga? ugh. not wanting to hear my kids singing her weird music and twisted life philosophy.

Now Monkeyiron don't pop a circut. This discussion deals with a film that won't annoy parents as much when taking their kids to see it. No one is forcing you to see it. There's Tin Tin, Batman 3, The Avengers, and Ghostrider 2 for you to look foward to.

The songs are catchy but in the words of Caesar "NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" @phantanos quit defending this movie who cares if only kids like it because they don't watch as much any how and plus they'll think any movie is good at their ages

Moviegeek. You noticed something that others overlooked. Character growth. In the first film they were annoying because they were adjusting to human customs. They were impressionable. The sequel shows us partially adjusted chipmunks. Now we see the boys and girls come of age in this story.
Alvin comes to a crossroad in this story. He comes to think that Dave doesn't care about him, because of the trouble he gets in. We see that Dave is a loving adopted father. This one film may relaunch the tv series.

C'mon that was great :D I laughed a couple times out loud. This looks a lot less annoying than the first two (and I even liked the second one) and there seems to be a good moral and some funny bits. It made me smile :)

Tin Tin's a swell kid. Maybe Speilberg will release it in November. That way people will be able to see it. To go against this movie will be hard.

Well, that's one way to get kids to listen to Beyonce and GaGa. Sadly, parents will skip Tin Tin and take their kids to see this.

Like I stated before! This film will plow the competition away! They have pulled all the stops, and are ready to dominate the holiday releases. Pompous movie critics will soil their shorts and Die from shock!
