The X-Files 3 Going Straight to DVD?

It seems that there might be more life for Mulder and Scully, but only on DVD. Dread Central received word from an insider that plans are in motion for a third X-Files film, although it would probably go straight to the video shelves.

"I understand - there was room for improvement ... and there still might be. I work for Screaming Death Monkey and Spotnitz - the TERRIFIC Frank Spotnitz - told us this week that the team have already spoken about the next X-Files film. It's likely the next release will go direct to DVD - but they're working on the assumption they'll have a similar budget."

We'll be sure to update you with any news regarding this possible release as soon as more information comes in. The second film, The X-Files: I Want to Believe is currently in theaters.

    Even though I wasn't old enough to remember it when it came out the x-files is a cultural revolation! It brought life to tv. I'm watching the episodes now and their crisp and fresh not like episodes of other shows some that even came out in 2005 seem old while the x-files, more than a decade after the original release still captures my attention. Don't get me wrong I love House, Bones, Grey's, CSI, but they where all derrived from the x files. Especialy bones. I am shocked at your responses if you had gone there with an open mind you would have enjoyed it but no. We go expecting somthing. If this movie had a different title and the people had different names you all would love it. at a certain point alien conspiracies overwhelm a person thats what dragged the show down in the final seasons, that and mulders absence. Yet my point is clear, The x-files is just as symbolic as apple pie or the statue of liberty. it shows how a show can succed without big stars and how breaking the mold and doing somthing different is great also to all the SOB's outthere posting sh*t about the x-files I'm tiered really tiered of this! STOP IT! I don't go around basicaly trashing your shows and Law and Order and half the other shows are boring crap! I want the x-files back!!!

    i hope that fox will still stand behind one of their best dramas and give it a ok for theatres. maybe a halloween date or thanksgiving date. this year was just too much contest esp*cally summer. :) the x files are great stories.
