@felipe-11 On that, we can totally agree. M:I3 packed a hell of a lot more of an emotional punch, it was thoroughly thrilling due to Phillip Seymour Hoffman's villain, had better cinematography and visuals for it's day. All in all, compared to Ghost Protocol, it was just an overall better, unapologetic, action film.

@narrator Cool, then we're on the same page. It's just lately everyone on this site wants to give Brad Bird every single franchise out there. Ghost Protocol was a compilation of terrific action set pieces, but everything else was bland. I liked JJ's Mission Impossible 3 WAY more.

@felipe-11 Lol. This is the first film I can remember suggested Brad Bird taking on, so the whole let's see him do more before we start "giving him everything" comment doesn't apply to me. I was one of the few people not that blown away by Ghost Protocol. It was fun, but forgettable.
I gave him a thought because of his tremendous work in The Incredibles. The Syndrome villain, the Dr. No-esque island, the creativity in the gadgets. It gave me hope that the guy would one day branch out and touch 007, which was clearly an inspiration for the film. He'd leave the camp behind, he'd take the esteemed project seriously like anyone would given the chance at such a coveted franchise. If he doesn't write the project by himself but rather co-wrote it with a very capable Bond writer, and got a better cinematographer (wasn't a fan of Elswit's work in Ghost Protocol, which is shocking because he's a phenomenal director of photography), I think Bird would surprise a lot of people with what he'd dish out.

@narrator Brad Bird directing 007? So we can get back to the extreme campiness and over-the-top nonsense from movies like Die Another Day which Casino Royale tried so hard to erase? No, thank you.
Brad Bird did mighty fine job with Ghost Protocol's action scenes, but everything else was just OK. Let's see him direct something else before giving him everything...

If Wolverine rocked a suit all the time, he might be my favorite superhero ever.

@ejk1 Perfect? I don't think so, but I can definitely agree he'd make a good Bond. I'm still rooting for Michael Fassbender to eventually get the part and have team up with the likes of Brad Bird or a return of Sam Mendes.

I love Connery, liked Craig, Brosnan, and Moore, but something in the back of my mind has been telling me for years that this guy would be the perfect Bond.
