James Mangold has a variety of bad and good films. His last two were mediocre. So, I'm not convinced . . . not one bit.

The First Avenger: JohnnyBlaze
could be worse i guess. Knight and Day was a bomb due to in part to the sappy overedone plot and the horrible scientologist acting.

3:10 to Yuma was an awesome movie, but Kight and Day brings down my expectations for this director
...i say again...WHY ARONOFSKY, WHY , WHY DID U HAVE TO GO LOL

This won't work any better than the first time around. Oh well, I have no extreme interest in this one.

I'm going off subject, as of yesterday the Star Gate franchise has been shelved. All future projects are no longer happening, but it's going to be auctioned off.

I said he was the only name in consideration that would be satisfactory after losing Aronofsky. Glad to see this movie back in the hands of one of the better directors in the business.

This dude's career is all over the place. His movies are all very different so I don't know what to expect. I didn't hate the first Wolverine but I hope this one will be a little less colorful. Logan didn't have that attitude like the XMen movies. They need it to come back.

Out of the short list they had, I think he is the best choice. Will it be anything like Aronofsky's? No. But it should not be. I don't want to see anyone try and make the same movie Aronofsky would and mess it up. I am looking forward to seeing Mangolds vision of it.

I like how movieweb mentions "walk the line" and "knight and day" -Are you serious ?? The director of "knight and day" is supposed to make me excited about him directing Wolverine. Good job movieweb. Leave it to everyone else to mention that he did "3:10 to yuma" which was great. ..and does anyone else remember "cop land" ? -it was a while ago, but i remember it being pretty good as well. -anyway, we'll see what happens i guess

No real opinion about this. I really enjoyed Walk the Line and Yuma, like everyone else here. But I was so excited for Aronofsky that it wouldn't have mattered who they got. This project has kind of just deflated from my radar for the time being.

This will be awesome ! I love 'Walk The Line' and '3:10 To Yuma' was a really, really good movie. This guy knows how to make a movie suspenseful/tense, which is exactly what we need for 'The Wolverine'.

3:10 to Yuma was great. I haven't seen his other movies. He's no Darren Aronofsky, though. He was perfect. We'll see how this plays out.

A good alternative. Walk The Line and 3:10 To Yuma are both great movies (I havent seen Knight and Day) so this could very well turn out to be a good flick after all..
