The Wolf Man and Nottingham Push Release Dates

Universal Pictures has pushed back the release of potential horror franchise The Wolf Man from April 3 to Nov. 6 and pushed Ridley Scott's Nottingham out of 2009 altogether.

According to Variety, Universal Pictures has also pushed up the release date for The Fast and the Furious 4 which will now open on April 3, instead of June 12.

Nottingham, toplining Russell Crowe, will open in 2010, but Universal did not set a specific date.

Univeral said the reshuffling was the sensible thing to do, considering that The Fast and the Furious 4 is completed, while the Brian Grazer-produced Nottingham won't start lensing until February or March.

And moving The Wolf Man -- a reboot toplining Benicio Del Toro -- to Nov. 6 gives the film more of a high-profile release, as well as ample time for post-production. The film is directed by Joe Johnston.

The Wolfman was released February 12th, 2010 and stars Simon Merrells, Gemma Whelan, Emily Blunt, Benicio Del Toro, Mario Marin-Borquez, Asa Butterfield, Cristina Contes, Anthony Hopkins. The film is directed by Joe Johnston.

Robin Hood was released May 14th, 2010 and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.

Your right Chad, I hadn't thought about it. I was so so so disapointed in Saw 5 that I will just skip Saw 6 and see The Wolf Man instead. 7 month difference is still a big push and it was pushed even befor the april date as well. But either way, I'm not in any rush to see this...

Well the Wolf Man isn't that big of a push space101, why would you have a werewolf movie in the beginning of april when it's a monster movie, which belongs to Halloween. It will only have to compete with Saw 6(which I'm unsure if they are skipping this Halloween or not).

Why are you using the word toplining? I don't think I have ever seen anyone use that expression, let alone for a film.

Surprised about the Wolfman...but, haven't they not even started Nottingham yet? And they were originally hoping for '09? That's ridiculous

The Wolf Man will be worth the wait. Nottingham keeps getting put off, who knows if it'll actually happen. In interviews Crowe wasn't even sure it would happen.

It mentions on The Wolfman website. A character named "Abeline" from Scotland yard. I wonder if this is supposed to be the same character played by Johnny Depp in From Hell.

I just finished my first draft of The Terror of London: Spring Heeled Jack which would fit nicely among these Victorian movies that have come out of the last decade. Now if I could only get someone to read the damn thing. =)

I LOVE Victorian England so I will be there with bells on for The Wolfman.

I was so looking forward to a Wolfman movie too. At least a trailer should come out soon. And I don't think its such a great idea to move up TFATF4, But w/e.
Nottingham is one of my most anticipated films and I'm sad Bale won't be in it...
