The Weinstein Company is jumping into the next generation.

In a story from Home Media Retailing, the company has announced December 19 as the day it will release it's first wave of HD-DVD titles through it's distributor Genius Products.

They are: Derailed, Scary Movie 4, Wolf Creek and The Matador. These titles will sell for $29.95.

"HD DVD represents the next step in the evolution of home entertainment," said CEO of Genius Products, Trevor Drinkwater. "Our first wave of titles offers an excellent array of entertainment options to showcase the phenomenal picture and sound quality of the new format."

In January 2007 the company plans to release Lucky Number Slevin, Pulse, and Clerks II.

Wolf Creek was released December 25th, 2005 and stars John Jarratt, Cassandra Magrath, Kestie Morassi, Nathan Phillips, Gordon Poole, Guy O'Donnell, Phil Stevenson, Geoff Revell. The film is directed by Greg Mclean.
