Gale Anne Hurd Talks The Walking Dead Season 2
The Walking Dead Season 2 premiere is one of the most anticipated TV events of 2011. Legendary producer Gale Anne Hurd recently spoke out about the October return of this sophomore series, and she hinted that The Walking Dead will become a more ensemble based show with episodes focusing on each individual character.

Here is what Gale Anne Hurd had to say:

"We had six episodes to set up the world and to introduce the characters and now I think we can go even more deeply into each of our ensemble cast members. We've had stories that concentrate on one character or another and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of that this season. I think there's still a lot more that we can learn from Daryl, the Norman Reedus character. I think that episodes focusing on Lori played by Sarah Wayne Callies, we've got a great triangle between Rick, Laurie and Shane. I have a sneaking suspicion that might be something we're going to explore even more deeply in the new season."

When asked if there are any new zombie concepts that she would like to explore, Gale Anne Hurd revealed that no, there really aren't any:

"I think we pretty much set up the world of zombies. They're not insane bolt sprinters. I think Greg Nicotero's makeup effects are tremendous. We're here because Stargate was nominated for best supporting visual effects and I think their work is seamless and we'll be able to give them more to do this season."

The Walking Dead Season 2 premieres this October.

Love that the zombies are not sprinters, it adds more suspense. An ensemble cast always work better look at Zombieland. By the way did anyone try that contest they had on the west coast to be a zombie on the show? That must have been fun.

Nice. I like that they're going the Lost route with this; giving each ensemble character it's due episode, with Rick Grimes being the equivalent of Jack, being the unofficial lead in an ensemble series. Awesome! Can't wait.
