It took just seven days for one of the year's biggest films to reach a box office milestone. According to Variety, The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in $17.9 million at the box office on Friday, bringing its domestic total to $206.1 million.The film has already surpassed Twilight's $192.8 million domestic total after just seven days in theaters. The film is currently playing in 4,042 theaters nationwide.
Sandra Bullock's true-story football film The Blind Side slipped to second place after a surprising Thursday win at the box office with $16.2 million for a cumulative gross of $76.3 million. Disney's new hand-drawn animated film The Princess and the Frog is making some big waves at the box office, taking in $277,000 from just two theaters, for a three-day gross of $707,630. The film will receive a wide release on December 11.

Just to make myself clear.I could careless of the money it makes.I was simply saying that I'm not surpised.I was just in awe at the fact that even after a week this movie was still having people flock to it.Also at the fact that I saw more than just teenagers there.I was surprised at that.
As for this thing and people with the competition and TDk.There is no competition.TDK was and will always be great.But I have opened my mind to this at least,a little bit further.I was fairly impressed and it held my attention.

It is not a big deal if this movie is making a lot of money. If the biggest thing you have to complain about is women and teenagers paying to see a movie aimed at women and teenagers, then you obviously don't have much else going on in your lives. Bottom line is that this is nothing to complain about in life or in the world of pop culture. If your brother dies in the war, that's devastating. If Uwe Bol was handed the Halo adaptation, that would be something to complain about. But not this.
I find people's lack of rationality to be more offensive and annoying than any "Twilighter" will ever be. It's not even about principle anymore with you people...that New Moon is competing against TDK. No. It's about you closing your mind even further on anything that changes your precious man eating vamps and werewolves. Those things will still exist no matter how much money Twilight makes. And the fact that the majority of you don't seem to realize that is sadder than an abortion by vampire fangs or a werewolf caring for a baby any day.

I leave for a few days and come back seeing people are arguing over a film.Nice.Anyway.
I went to go see this film over my vacation,much needed might I add.And I am not surprised at this news one bit.The theater I went to go see this in was packed.Not with just teenage girls with their boyfriends.I saw grown men with their wives there as well.And I am afraid to admit it but I rather enjoyed this film.It was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.
Still does not change my mind of the first one though.
