@The REALavatar:Thats why they picked her. From what I've gathered, because I'm not stupid enough to actually read the books,Bella never smiles. She always indifferent and thats why they Kristen Stewart to portray such a one dimensional character.

Number 1: The longer the wait, the more it builds up the women to watch these movies and send the three actors to promote them world wide...

Number 2: (And I mean this without insulting the females of movieweb who are a fan of the saga) Its marketing dude, and they know that a lot of crazy hormone dumb clouded teenage girls are gonna want to wear and own twilight merchandise, and pick a side, because when the books were coming out, some were rooting for Jacob to win her heart and some were rooting for Edward, therefore someone got smart and created the whole team ed or Jake to make money that could very well serve for other important stuff rather than bullsh*t merchandise...And also, once the character was filled in by Taylor, all hell broke loose and the little gay bastard made more money on his characters products than the rest (hence older mothers with husbands and kids wearing his underwear)...I hope this clears up your confusion, and if anyone else has something to add, please, by all means :)

I just love how no matter how much make up they put on her, Kristin Stewart always has that indifferent look on her.

I'm confused about a few Twilight things, and hopefully someone who knows can clear them up:

    1) Why is the schedule for these movies so erratic. This last flick, "Total Eclipse"(or whatever it's called) was released practically right on top of the previous one. So why are they taking so long to bring the next two movies? Especially when they are two parts of the same movie adaptation?

    2) Team Jacob. What the hell is this? Admittedly, I've only seen the first, but I did go online and read a synopsis on each subsequent book to see how it ended. So, a few weeks after reading these synopsis(thereby saving myself from wasting time on the movies), I'm working at my job when I notice a girl wearing a Team Jacob shirt. I think to myself, "Why the hell is she wearing that shirt? She must've read all the books by now." So this is my question: Why are people rooting for the girl to end up with this Jacob, when they know it will never happen? This is like going back in time to about 1950, and betting all your money on the Cubs to win the World Series.

Um.. I can understand why Harry Potter was split....Its unnecessary for BD even if they are milking the movie for money...

Come on now. By now this entire country should know how the movie industry works if we like movies. OF COURSE they're going to split the last film into two parts. Milking it for everything the franchise is worth. Just like the Harry Potter film. Split into two parts for it's final. They KNOW the industry income will take a drop after they lose films that have a huge fan base. This is just how it works people..

this is ridiculous! they can easily release both parts next year, the first part in june & second part in november. why the hold up in releasing this? the second & third movies were 7 months apart for christ sake! summit must either be all a bunch of idiots, or they are just trying to slowly milk this franchise as long as they can. eff them!

  19. The Narrator: The Better Man

Totally unnecessary. A year apart, for a two part film, one that can be squeezed easily into an hour and a half without losing any substance (which it already lacks). Pathetic, but smart. Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions (shot back to back) were released within the same year the latter made far less than the 2nd film. Idk, at the end of the day it doesn't matter.

They released New Moon and Eclipse seven months apart from each other. Why drag this on longer than it needs too? It will get more revenue before the world ends. Big mistake :P

    OMG!

...yeah, I pretty much don't care. I saw the second, and it was all right. Not interesting enough to merit a trip to the theater or the video store -- but, if someone brought it over, or I was at a house where it was on TV, I wouldn't leave or throw a sh*t-fit.

@Brian: Seems like the most plausible theory at this point.
