@yannick-decorte i think u miss my point slightly. it works because Stephanie Meyer wanted it to work, that is how she wrote it. she wrote it so there were guys with their shirts off. my point is if ur creating a universe and writing w/e u want, then yeah u can justify w/e u want then. she could have just as easily made them have normal body temperatures, and if the tearing shirts in the transformation thing is reason enough for them to take off their shirts, then y don't they get naked. i mean if their going to take off their shirts to not ruin them then it would be logical to take off their pants too, but they probably know they couldn't get away with that, so they do what they can, which is take off their shirts.

and i would argue that it is dumb and pointless for action starts to take off their shirts too.

Actually @yannick-decorte ... I've seen them all so far, simply because people love to make the argument that you can't judge it if you haven't seen it. I'm a movie buff, but... and it's just my opinion, the Twilight franchise is a sell out, they are made the way they are so that they can sell tickets to the same women who went and saw Titanic a million times cause of the love story... the same demographic keeps pumping money into it, it doesn't make it good because it has a story that's relevant, everything can be relatable to the right audience. You know what, I'll even go out on a limb and say, even though most people in here have seen me rant about how much I hate the Harry Potter films, I'll say at least those movies are actually good, very well made movies, not just trash that is made to appeal to tweens... You know what else had a really good story that is very well made and has themes people can relate to? X-Men first class... Twilight just doesn't make the cut, I'm sorry but it doesn't.

@watson-mcflyy - That's what I have been saying about all these Twilight movies....the way they light these things and the way the fights.... no screw that..... EVERYTHING is choreographed looks like a made for tv movie or, as you said, a lifetime movie.

    This looks terrible!!!

see heres the thing, im fine with them making the twilight movies, i understand how women can view this as quality cinema, but really, why does breaking dawn need two parts?! I have three sisters and from what ive heard even though the 4th book is the longest, the least happens in it. This just shows a lack of creative energy from the people making the film, if nothing happens you should be able to condense this book into one movie. IF PETER JACKSON CAN MAKE LORD OF THE RINGS IN 3 MOVIES, then they should be able to make twilight saga in four movies (which has literally a fifth of the material LOTR has) Just Sayin' ;)

@Brainiac: There are tons of films with female nudity, partial or full, and sometimes it has a point. Megan Fox is hot as hell but there was a point to her getting naked in Jennifer's Body for example, it worked with the story. Also, Jacob isn't the only one walking around half-naked, the other members of his tribe do it too and most of them are not big or buff. They're half naked because that's how those people live in their community, and it speaks of their wild nature, as opposed to the much more sophisticated of the vampires in the films, like the Cullens and their house and sense of fashion or the Volturi living like royalty in Italy. And yes, it also looks good but not just for girls. Don't tell me you don't expect Stallone, Schwarzenegger, The Rock or Jason Statham to take off their shirts in some of their films, the ones where they play tough and strong characters. It just works better to show toughness and strength to see a muscular body. That it looks good is not a bad thing as long as it works a believable purpose, which it completely does in the Twilight films.

@youngrizo: You've seen one film, when they're all about different things. Eclipse was about the realization that you can love more than one person at once and that it's perfectly normal, that making mistakes is how you learn what you want and who you are, and that you shouldn't marry someone just because you love them but because you feel empowered and have found meaning in their world. Look at this:

"Bella: This wasn't a choice between you and Jacob-it was a choice between who I should be and who I am. I've always felt out of step-like, literally stumbling through my life-I've never felt normal, because I'm not normal. I don't want to be. I've had to face death, and loss, and pain in your world but I've also never felt stronger-like, more real; more myself-because it's my world, too. It's where I belong.

Edward: So it's not just about me?

    Bella: No. ... Sorry."

That's a pretty interesting and relevant message for the young people watching those films, and it's not just about "love conquers all" as you can see. That's because there isn't just one film to this franchise, and like I said, they're all about something else. The first film is the most juvenile because the characters just meet and Bella is young and in love and stupid, but she grows up.

@yannick-decorte I know about the whole wolf temperature thing. I read all 4 books. The thing is, the way the first time they executed the scene of him taking off his shirt to cover Bella's wounded head. He takes off his shirt too in the book but it isn't played out completely that way. And let's be real, do you really need to take off your whole shirt for that? I would have easily ripped off a piece of it to stop the bleeding.

  27. Brainiac

@yannick-decorte the whole body temperature things being the reason for y they take their shirts off is stupid and a lame excuse. the temperature thing is put in there so that they can have their shirts of justifiably, there is no real need for it other than to make young girls swoon. If i wrote a story in which women were constantly getting undressed, but said it was because they had sensitive skin and clothing bugged them, than yeah i would have written a reason into the story for having naked chicks, wouldn't make the naked chicks any less pointless.

    and these movies are sh*t.

  29. Youngrizo

@yannick-decorte, I'll give you that the shirt thing is correct, but to say these movies are much deeper than people give em credit for is a gross overstatement. Here lies a tale about love, pure and simple, the entirety of this series and why women love it so much is it's idea of 'Love conquers all' even if it's cross species love... beyond that, the action, if we can call it that, the fight scenes is what i'd rather call them, the drama, it's all just part of the plot the same way if you watch "Guess who;s coming to dinner", you'll see the clash of cultures between a black and white family and how 2 people who love each other overcome all the crap going on around them ...Nothing more than that.

Beyond that, what people hate about these movies is not so much the plot as the execution, you know I watched the first film only because I wanted to be able to say to some of the women I know that "yes, I had seen it and I still thought it sucked" ...you know why? because I defend a lot of movies, but these movies, the 2 main characters are horribly acted, annoying in at least the first 2 films... and the supporting cast is good but not great, so what could really have been a sweeping tale of romance against all odds just becomes an annoying mish mash of teenage infatuation, a horrible excuse for vampires and werewolves that look nice and cuddly that you want to have as pets :p I understand it's a different universe than most others and so it should be treated as such, but they still could have made a better slew of films than what this is. As it stands, all these twilight movies put together don't have anywhere near as much heart as 'The notebook'... a love story done right
