The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 gets PG-13 rating
Well, director Bill Condon and Summit Entertainment pulled it off, as the Motion Picture Association of America awarded The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 with its PG-13 rating today, which keeps it in line with the previous three movies and assures that teens are safe to see it.
The PG-13 rating for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is based on the following.
"Disturbing images, violence, sexuality/partial nudity and some thematic elements."
It is rumored that there will be a slightly darker, unrated version of the film available on Blu-ray and DVD sometime in 2012, before the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 was released November 18th, 2011 and stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Billy Burke, Anna Kendrick, Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone. The film is directed by Bill Condon.

@dan1 -- How do they usually respond? Hell, if you're going to go out and buy a movie, shouldn't you at least love it and/or find it highly enjoyable with the intention of watching it more than once over the course of a year or two or so? I have yet to buy a movie for myself, I'd like for it to be the "Fight Club" Blu-Ray - which is quite possibly my favorite film of all-time.

@bawnian-dexeus No worries man. I own a few chick flicks too. I enjoy a chick flick here and there (depends, honestly). Twilight isn't a chick-flick. It might be aimed that way for the movies, but the books never intended it that way.

@dan1 I would say movies that might cause your left eye to twitch ?

@dan1 The thing i cant get over is how stupid and helpless (hapless?) S Meyer writes her heroine. She could probably 'accidently" kill herself with a teddy bear.

@bawnian-dexeus I'm almost afraid to ask, but which movies?

@bawnian-dexeus I just bought Drood by Dan Simmons! It is awesome.

@corey Your right, that was a d*ck move. I dont know what came over me. I have actually read all of the books. I read them when i ran out of books overseas. I appologize to all who i may have offended and for those i may have spoiled the movie for.
I for one prefer the movies over the books beacuse I can make it thru the movies in 8 hours or so while it would take several days to complete the books.

@bawnian-dexeus It's still weird, dude. Those movies are for chicks. They make zero bones that that is the target audience.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Point is, I just can't have an incomplete set. It's not like I'm gonna watch em regularly, just to be in content.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx "But isn't it a waste to own average/below average flicks?" I love that question. One I ask many a people with questionable taste.

@corey -- But don't you think one-viewing will be enough for such an utter chick-flick as this one?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Well to "you" it isn't worth the buy. I'm glad the film got a PG-13 rating and with an uncut version rumored for the DVD, yes, to me that's worth the buy. I'm not the biggest fan of the movie adaptations, but I still look forward to them all. The books are great, the movies are just fun, popcorn clicks that "could have been" something more.

@bawnian-dexeus -- But isn't it a waste to own average/below average flicks? If you like them, then I can see your point. But otherwise, it just doesn't seem quite right.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx Meh, somewhere along the road I'll buy the other flicks and the first book just to satisfy my need for owning stuff in completion

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I saw the movie in theaters to see how they adapted it. It failed visually and performance wise (I only later noticed it) and then my dad knew I was reading the books, and that I saw the movie so he bought it. I gave him a frown. As for the books, I borrowed the first one, and bought the rest to keep up with the girls

@bawnian-dexeus -- You bought Twilight, or your parents/siblings/relatives bought it? If you did, was it before you saw it?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx For some reason I own the first one and it bothers me to own an incomplete set. Kinda like with the books. I own all except the first.

@corey -- It was quite obvious it was going to get an PG-13 rating, and how in any way will it be worth the buy? Maybe a rental just for the sake of critiquing, but I would never buy a Twilight film.

@bawnian-dexeus I see what your saying. I'm glad it got the PG-13 rating, where the Blu-Ray Uncut will now be worth the buy.
