Under Malick's careful direction The Tree of Life showcases complicated and haunting powerhouse performances by Academy-Award nominee Brad Pitt (Fight Club), Academy Award winner Sean Penn (Milk, Mystic River) and newcomer Jessica Chastain (The Help).
An impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950's, the film follows the life journey of the eldest son, Jack (played as an adult by Sean Penn), through the innocence of childhood to his disillusioned adult years as he tries to reconcile a complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt).
The Tree of Life Blu-ray Combo Pack includes a bonus DVD and Digital Copy version of the film. Pre-book date is September 14.

"The Tree of Life" received the prestigious Palme d'Or at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival ...then read somewhere that even Sean Penn says he was trying to figure out what role he played in Terrence Malick's Palme d'Or-winning film...!!

@dan1 That's actually been my thinking ever since I saw the first trailer for Girl w/the Dragon Tattoo. Even though it's not the kinda film the Academy generally goes for, the quality will be undeniable. I think it'll either win best picture or best director one. After all, the Academy loves repeat nominees without wins, and they love giving out "compensatory" awards for past years' snubs. Fincher, I would say, is at the top of both of those lists.

There may come a day where even I get a wild hair up my ass and sit and watch Tree of Life, and a great conversation spans from that, but you gotta come to grips with reality (or at least this site lol), and stop getting yourself flustered with us lousy cbm lovers.
