The Transporter TV Series Heads to Cinemax

Director/writer/producer Luc Besson has teamed up with Cinemax to bring his popular franchise The Transporter to the small screen. The pay cable channel has commited to twelve episodes of this new action series, which will be produced by French company Atlantique and executive produced by Luc Besson.

Each hour-long episode will center on professional courier Frank Martin, a role originated by Jason Statham and carried through the course of three big screen entries. This driver of dangerous goods will continue to rely on 3 personal rules as he traverses a seedy underground network of crime: Never change the deal, no names and never open the package.

The Transporter television series will being shooting this summer. There is no word yet on who will be playing Frank Martin, and it is unlikely that Jason Statham will make an appearance, unless it is a small, unrecognizable cameo somewhere down the line. It is possible that Luc Besson will contribute story ideas for the series as it progresses.

The Transporter was released October 11th, 2002 and stars Jason Statham, Qi Shu, Matt Schulze, François Berléand, Ric Young, Doug Rand, Didier Saint Melin, Tonio Descanvelle. The film is directed by Corey Yuen.

this is probably a better medium for a plot like the transporter. the big screen leaves it to be shallow and focused on action. TV allows for better character development while providing good action. could have long term conflicts being worked out over the season while dealing with shorter conflicts every episode. good idea bringing this to TV.

Ha nice!!! at least it'll be uncensored and wont hold back the violence. i think Andy Whitfield would be good for this role if he's done with his cancer treatments yet and if he learned how to fight like Statham

It all comes down to who they cast in the role that Jason made famous weither it will be good or bad. For example, look at Burn Notice. Would this show be as good if it had someone eles as the main character Michael? Probly not. Its all down to who is cast that will make the show, couse the scripts will all be in the same area as the movies.

Great pic. Will check it out for sure... Glad to see it going to CNMX instead of FX or even USA. Makes more room for the action/sex/language that made the flick 'legit'
