The Thing Russian Trailer

Yesterday we got the Russian poster, today we get the Russian trailer for Universal's upcoming thriller The Thing. Despite it's rather untelling title, director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.'s The Thing is not a remake or a reboot, but rather a true prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 cult classic, which was, in fact, a remake. The story here tells what happened to the group that encountered The Thing before Kurt Russell and his crew happened upon it. Check out some new gore and an extra bit of violence in this latest look at The Thing below.

The Thing was released October 14th, 2011 and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Ulrich Thomsen, Eric Christian Olsen, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Paul Braunstein, Trond Espen Seim, Kim Bubbs. The film is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen Jr..

    @k-man: Yep, all better.

@dan1: No man, it was smaller font, no avatars, and only mentions and names were highlighted in red. It was awful. Glad it was just a bug in the system. For unlike IM where we can customize fonts, there was no such thing there. Speaking of which, I still haven't figured out how to launch that group again on this Mac. Apparently it won't work out. For I don't necessarily want to install a windows version again on a Mac since window's crappy software destroyed my last two PCs. But I'll keep trying to figure this thing out. Oh, and the new "post comment" thing is cleaner.

@brian It's all good on my end, but thanks for the advice.

@k-man @dan1 @bawnian-dexeus Guys, if you saw some weird layout stuff happening, it's from the recent change from the comments and your browser not caching up with the updated code. (Meaning your browser has cached the old code). The way to fix this would be to empty your cache and refresh the page. Should be good to go after that.

@moviewiz001 I'd say it won't necessarily give you nightmares, but it's more of a thriller movie about paranoia and thinking if you could trust the people around you, because they might not be who they really are ;)

@bawnian-dexeus @dan1 I re-fresh my page to in order to check my mentions, but I wish it would tell you if you had one like facebook does, up in the tab.

@dan1 I know it's simple, but I see the @mentions like the notifications on FB. I'm so used to the notifications telling me I have stuff that I sometimes expect the @mentions to be just the same. I don't have a problem with refreshing, but it's a thought for future updates

  10. Dan

@bawnian-dexeus Dunno what it would take to make it do that, but hitting refresh isn't that big a deal to me.

@dan1 @k-man Although I wouldn't mind the @mentions to update on their own rather than me having to refresh my page

@k-man I do as well. Movieweb looks fantastic and is at it's most user friendly right now. It's cool that the admins are as interactive as they are with us. Even @balanorange :P

@dan1 @brian @bawnian-dexeus @slysnide - True, very true......but I think I was so quick to jump the gun because I am so used to all the other websites who regularly change their format (into crap) and who do not care about or alter the problems thereafter.
For a second there, I actually thought that these guys thought losing the avatars and making it look more facebook(ish) with the messaging style and lack of space between comments, actually looked good. Thank God, I was wrong and that it was just a bug in the system!!

I guess I forgot that this is Movieweb........which is one of the few websites that actually cares about their functionality and user friendly design.

I really do have faith in Movieweb....more so than any other site on the net. I mean that.

@bawnian-dexeus @k-man @slysnide I think we should give @brian and crew the benefit of the doubt before we start freaking out (hey that rhymed). If it looks like dog sh*t, but it's apparent that changes are being made to things, we should assume it's just temporary. They wouldn't leave it all craps looking and less functional.

@k-man I think I saw what y'all saw a few hours ago, but it was corrected quickly. I run Chrome on Windows 7 Ultimate, btw. I'd prefer a Mac any day though over PC, just don't have the money for one right now.

@dan & @slysnide - I'm with slysnide, I'm looking at a page that has no Avatars and no seperation between comments. This is HORRIBLE.

Why fix something that isn't broken, movieweb? WTF?????

Maybe it is the type of web browser......what are you guys using because I'm using Google Chrome. I freakin refuse to use Safari because it's slow a f*ck, so movieweb better fix this problem.
Also, I'm on a Mac, not a PC, so maybe that has something to do with it.

By the way, I'm also looking at a comment section that can no longer tag people in the comments.......that's just friggin great.

@slysnide Are you looking at something different from me? Cuz I still clearly see our avatars and separation of comments. If anything, it looks cleaner.

This change to the comments is lame. Avatars were nicer to identify users. No separation of comments anymore either. They flow into themselves like an IM.
