David Koepp to write The Thin Man remake
David Koepp, writer and director of Johnny Depp's 2004 thriller Secret Window, has been hired to adapt the screenplay for The Thin Man. The story revolves around a retired detective who solves a murder with his wife solely for the fun of it.
David Koepp will be writing the script based on the original Dashiell Hammett novel. Rob Marshall, director of Johnny Depp's summer hit Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, will helm this remake for Warner Bros., and plans to include at least two musical numbers within the context of the story.
The search is now on to find an actress to play Nora, wife to Johnny Depp's Nick.
The Thin Man comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Johnny Depp. The film is directed by Rob Marshall.

I could have sworn I wrote something about Hollywood needing to stop trying to remake the classics last night.

@thedude-abides couldn't agree more. Seems like a great match for the material.
