The Tempest Trailer
In her big-screen adaptation of Shakespeare's mystical thriller The Tempest, Academy Award-nominated Julie Taymor (Across the Universe, Frida) brings an original dynamic to the story by changing the gender of the sorcerer Prospero into the sorceress Prospera, portrayed by Oscar winner Helen Mirren (The Queen). Prospera's journey spirals through vengeance to forgiveness as she reigns over a magical island, cares for her young daughter, Miranda, and unleashes her powers against shipwrecked enemies in this exciting, masterly mix of romance, tragicomedy and the supernatural.
The Tempest was released December 10th, 2010 and stars Helen Mirren, Chris Cooper, Alfred Molina, Alan Cumming, Djimon Hounsou, Russell Brand, Ben Whishaw, David Strathairn. The film is directed by Julie Taymor.

Horrible CG. Any scene in this trailer with Helen Mirren just made the movie look like sh*t, lol these actors were so out of place!

that looks great! alfred molina and russell brand together? never would have seen that coming. it would have been cooler to see russell brand stretch himself as an actor and portray a more serious character, than the one we'd all expect him to play (the fool - he's seen just before and after the "stupidity" catchphrase). great cast... i look forward to this!

this looks like a film that will be very split down the middle with audiences. some people will love it and others hate it. looks odd, but also very cool. i will definetly be seeing it. looks very cool,i could definetley see why others are saying otherwise though.

As a fan of all kinds of all Shakespears works, and owns all of them, I am a bit a purist. I am not a big fan of them being changed up to much, or remade for a modern touch. But with that said, this looks fantasic. I will no dout be in line to see this if is shown localy.

on one hand it looks kinda gay, but on the other hand it looks fantastic and totally bong-worthy, so you can count on me checking it out in one of my saturday morning wake-n-bake movie marathons after it hits dvd.
