The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Not Getting a Live-Action Film

A few days back, we reported here that the creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman, had suggested that there was a new live-action movie featuring the heroes in a half-shell on its' way. Well, Steve Murphy, who has served as a writer for the Turtles for some time, posted to his blog The 5th Turtle, that those rumors are false.

Murphy wrote:
This is complete nonsense and entirely untrue.

Murphy's post linked to the thread on Heavy Metal where the rumor originated. However, at this time, the thread has been deleted.

So, while there may be plans for a CGI sequel to TMNT, at this time there is no truth to the rumor of a new live-action film.

it will be better if its a live action and the Turtles and splinter are CGI just like we ave in fantastic 4 2 and the incredible hulk, scooby doo.It helps restore that feeling associated with the original

I agree Doctor. But either way we are getting another Turtles movie so im happy. I just wish they use an old villain like the ones we know and not a new one like TMNT.

A live-action reboot could just be what the turtle franchise needed.

I hope there ARE plans for a CGI sequel to TMNT, they left it open at the end where Shredder may come back. Plus there are many directions thay can go as far as the comic book, there are some things I would love to see. Raph is the baddest!

That sucks, I liked the last TMNT better than the original three movies, which are good but the CGI movie just seemed better.

Well, I'd say this was disappointing, but since I never really got into the turtles, besides the cartoon show, I haven't watched the movies, it's not really a letdown. So we'll see what happens, and go from there. I HAVE heard mixed reviews about this last CGI one, TMNT, though.

Letdown, its probably because they got new younger fans hooked on how much "action and stunts" the turtles can do with CGI, oh well, I wouldnt mind a straight to DVD if it ment another live action.
