Screenwriter Albert Torres has signed on to rewrite the screenplay for The Strange Case of Hyde for Dark Horse Entertainment.

We first reported on this project back in July 2010, when it was announced that Skydance Productions and Dark Horse Entertainment are teaming up on this graphic novel adaptation. Creator Cole Haddon wrote the original screenplay adaptation which Albert Torres will re-write.

The story puts an intriguing spin on the Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde tale. The movie will take place after Dr. Jekyl has been rehabilitated and released from prison. He must find the man who has made improvements to his original Hyde serum. The characters were first created by Robert Louis Stevenson in 1886.

Mark Gordon is producing alongside David Ellison's Skydance Productions and Dark Horse Entertainment. No production schedule was given.

The Strange Case of Hyde is in development .
