According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jena Malone, Laura Ramsey, and Shawn Ashmore have all signed on to star in the film version of Scott B. Smith's The Ruins.

The thriller follows a group of friends on a Mexican Holiday. Things take a turn for the worse when the plants start coming alive and killing people.

Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfield are producing The Ruins. Scott B. Smith has written the screenplay based on his best seller.

The film will begin shooting in Queensland, Australia this month.

The Ruins was released April 4th, 2008 and stars Jonathan Tucker, Jena Malone, Laura Ramsey, Shawn Ashmore, Joe Anderson, Sergio Calderón, Jesse Ramirez, Balder Moreno. The film is directed by Carter Smith.
