The Partridge Family Set for a TV Remake

A TV classic about a musical family is about to be reinvented by NBC. According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC has picked up a remake to the 70s classic series, The Partridge Family.

The project was written by Jeff Rake and will be a modernized take on the series about a family band. Rake had said he intends to turn the premise, "on its head."

"In the original, the kids actually recruited their mom to front the band, which I can't see happening in any family on this planet," he said. "The new version will reflect what seems to me to be the more realistic family band scenario these days: a struggling, sort of well-meaning mom pimping her kids in order to create a wholesome-slash-sexy cash cow."

No production schedule was released for the series.

Oh that's bright. Why don't we cast Danny Bonaduce as the drunken deadbeat dad while at it? After all, he was an original cast member. Do us all a favor Mr. Rake, come up with something original. Any schmuck can flip a show "on it's head". But the real stroke of genius lies in originality you f*cking douchebag!
