The New The Fantastic Mr. Fox Trailer Arrives!

Fox Searchlight Pictures has unveiled the new full-length trailer for Wes Anderson's The Fantastic Mr. Fox. Opening in theaters November 25, the film uses classic handmade stop motion techniques to tell the story of the best selling children's book by Roald Dahl.

In the film, Mr. and Mrs. Fox (George Clooney and Meryl Streep) live an idyllic home life with their son Ash (Jason Schwartzman) and visiting young nephew Kristopherson (Eric Anderson). But after 12 years, the bucolic existence proves too much for Mr Fox's wild animal instincts. Soon he slips back into his old ways as a sneaky chicken thief and in doing so, endangers not only his beloved family, but the whole animal community. Trapped underground and with not enough food to go around, the animals band together to fight against the evil Farmers - Boggis, Bunce and Bean - who are determined to capture the audacious, fantastic Mr. Fox at any cost.

The Fantastic Mr. Fox was released November 13th, 2009 and stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, Wallace Wolodarsky, Eric Chase Anderson, Michael Gambon, Willem Dafoe. The film is directed by Wes Anderson.

    Fallen,

LOL. He just bugs me. That, and he helped kill the Batman franchise in the 90's, and most of the roles he picks are just not memorable. He just rubs me the wrong way, like how Nic Cage rubs people the wrong way. The only film I thought he was perfect for was Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? However, the upcoming Men Who Stare at Goats looks perfect for him. I'm considering adding it to my see this.

Granted, he's just a voice here. That's more tolerable too.

Well I am also on the fence, but this trailer makes me want to see it much more than the last one. And Diaigma, what do you have against Mr. Clooney out of curiosity?

If anyone has been a fan of the wallace and gromit series including wererabbit and other stopmotion works, I think there is potential for this movie. I've read some comments that a few people dislike the old style of stopmotion but honestly, with today's CGI and other animation, I notice animators get too caught up in supposedly epic motion sequences (ie chase sequences, race against time ecte) And really I am soo very tired of that, it takes away from the actual story and just sort of ruins it for me. I have alot of hope for this film and can't wait for it to arrive!

I dunno if the critics are right, but right now I think is disappointing that a story like this from a great author, aren't impressive!!!!

I think this is going to suck, maybe

I can understand that. I think I have a lot of sentimentality tied up in both Dahl's book and Anderson's films, which puts me on a slant for this movie.

I guess you're right. There are some films that directors said were "meant to be crap" and so it was crap. Not saying that this will be crap, but I'm not jumping on my heals to see this right away. I'll wait for the RT ratings like I usually do.
I'm not against low budget animation either. You know how stoked I am for Astro Boy? You have no idea! :P

Besides, the framerate for this film is the same as other recent stop motions. I can tell from the trailer. The framerate's not the problem. Nothing about the trailers get me excited, is all.

I think the budget constraints lend it a sort of homebrewed charm. This isn't meant to be Coraline, or Nightmare (and I'm not implying you said it was), it's meant to be a much lighter fare of family film. If you get hung up on the framerate and can't get past it to see the movie in the right vein when it comes out, I feel bad for you.

    Comrade,

Love the book, but the puppets and animation are just so...so starchy to me. And that's coming from an animation buff. I want to care about this film, like ridgl said, but it looks like a giant step down from recent stop motion features. The quality this story deserves is just not there. That and I have issues with Mr. Clooney :P

Diaigma... how so? I think it's exactly what it should be, have you ever read the book?
