The Nanny Diaries Gets a New Release Date

Have you been secretly waiting for the film adaptation of The Nanny Diaries to hit theaters? Well, sad news. You are going to have to wait a little bit longer. According to Variety, the Weinstein Company has changed the release date on us.

The film was originally scheduled to open on August 24th. It will now open on September 7th instead. Don't cry too hard, that's really not that long of a wait. Why did they move it? Because the Weinsteins felt it needed a more prestigious fall release. You know, the kids are back in school and all the cougars need an afternoon movie to attend.

This is the third time that The Nanny Diaries has moved around on the schedule. Usually that means the movie is a stinker, but the Weinsteins' insist that is not the case. Harvey attests, "There is nothing rotten in the state of Denmark. We really believe in the movie and people like it."

I guess we'll just have to wait and find out for ourselves when the film opens in September.

The Nanny Diaries was released August 24th, 2007 and stars Scarlett Johansson, Donna Murphy, John Henry Cox, Alicia Keys, Lewis Payton Jr., Sonnie Brown, Georgina Chapman, Nicholas Art. The film is directed by Shari Springer Berman, Robert Pulcini.
