The mutants rule the box office!

X-2 The mutants ruled the box office this weekend, earning an estimated $85.5 million!

X-2 now holds the fourth biggest opening of all time, trailing Spider-Man ($114.8 million), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone ($90.3 million) and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets ($88.4 million).

X-2 also earned an estimated $69.3 million internationally for a worldwide total of $155.2 million. The original X-Men opened with $54.5 million in July of 2000 on its way to $157.3 million at the domestic box office.

X2: X-Men United was released May 2nd, 2003 and stars Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Famke Janssen, James Marsden, Anna Paquin, Rebecca Romijn. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
