Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller is currently writing the pilot for a reboot of the 1964 hit TV series The Munsters, according to Ausiello Files.

NBC has ordered a pilot script from Fuller, who has an overall deal with the network. The show was said to be a mixture of Modern Family and True Blood.

It is also rumored that Guillermo del Toro may have a role in this pilot as well, possibly as a producer or executive producer. Bryan Fuller has served as a writer-producer on Heroes and Star Trek: Voyager.

The Munsters originally aired from 1964 to 1966, spawning The Munsters Today reboot in 1988. The series revolved around a family of lovable monsters who don't quite understand why the public reacts oddly to their presence.
