Oscilloscope Laboratories has bought the North American distribution rights to director Oren Moverman's debut feature The Messenger. According to Variety, the film will be released in November of this year.

The Messenger played both the Sundance and Berlin film fests earlier this year. The movie stars Ben Foster, Woody Harrelson, Samantha Morton and Jena Malone. It centers on Will Montgomery (Ben Foster), an Iraq War vet who returns home only to be reassigned to causality notification services with his new partner (Woody Harrelson).

The film will open to coincide with the award season, hoping to garner nominations for its stars and its director.
