Peter Jackson has finally found the lead for his next project, an adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones. According to Variety, Saoirse Ronan will be playing the murdered Susie Salmon in the film.

The book revolves around the adventures of a recently murdered eleven year old who narrates her own death from heaven. Rachel Weisz and Ryan Gosling are also starring in the thriller.

The film is set to begin filming in October for DreamWorks and Paramount. Jackson will be on location in Pennsylvania and New Zealand.

The Lovely Bones was released December 11th, 2009 and stars Rachel Weisz, Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Saoirse Ronan, Susan Sarandon, Jake Abel, Michael Imperioli, Reece Ritchie. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.
