'The Lone Ranger' Trailer!

Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer bring Tonto and this title character back to life on the big screen in director Gore Verbinski's adventure.
Following the first poster and new photos yesterday, Walt Disney Pictures has debuted the trailer for The Lone Ranger, directed by Gore Verbinski. Johnny Depp stars as Tonto, a Native American warrior who tells his story of the transformation of John Reid (Armie Hammer) from a Texas lawman into the title character. Take a look at the first footage from this action-adventure, also starring Ruth Wilson, Helena Bonham Carter, and Tom Wilkinson.

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films' The Lone Ranger, a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. @Number1Wolverine I think the time period in this movie will be taken seriously. It won't be cartoony like Jonah Hex, because the supernatural part that was originally going to be used in this movie was taken out.

What is everyone talking about all this CGI stuff? The only CGI I noticed was at the beginning and that was part of the Bruckheimer Logo, not the actual movie. At least I hope so.

@ghostman I would think that the full trailer will be released 2 or 3 months, before The Lone Ranger is released to theaters in July next year. I guess Gore Verbinski and Jerry Bruckheimer didn't want this movie to be in 3D, they might have figured that 2D would be the better option for this movie.

The trailer looks meh. I just hope the time period is taken seriously like 3:10 To Yuma, and not cartoony like Jonah Hex.

solid teaser. like everyone else i wasn't a fan of the cgi at the beginning, but remember the TAS teaser? I think Verbinski will do a good job of balancing the elements...

  28. Youngrizo

It feels more like a new age western than Wild WIld west... Wild wild west was a comedy with ridiculous technology as the macguffin. The Macguffin here is the building of the railway system.

This is a teaser so I'm holding judgement, it seems there will be action, i doubt it will be over the top but I expect it to be shot in Gore's voer the top style... that's different from actually making it a crazy almost sci-fi plot that WWW was.
