Ed Gass-Donnelly to direct The Last Exorcism 2
Ashley Bell is set to reprise her role from the original 2010 thriller The Last Exorcism, playing possessed teen Nell Sweetzer. The story will pick up three months after the end of the first film, though all further details are being kept under wraps.
Eli Roth is back as a producer, and is making an R rated feature this time out. This is what he had to say about the project.
"(We're) very, very excited to continue to this story. Obviously with the title of the first one we had not planned on a sequel, but we love the story and subject matter and had what we feel is an inspired idea to continue it. As you can see from other recent films, fans around the world are fascinated by this subject matter, and we want to go deeper and darker this time. The first film worked great as a PG-13 psychological film, but now we want to go R-rated and show the true horror of what this subject matter offers. The biggest creative challenge will be coming up with the right title!"
The Last Exorcism 2 will begin shooting this February in New Orleans.
The Last Exorcism Part II was released March 1st, 2013 and stars Ashley Bell, Julia Garner, Spencer Treat Clark, David Jensen, Tarra Riggs, Louis Herthum, Muse Watson, Erica Michelle. The film is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly.

I - like most critics -liked 'The Last Exorcism'. But, I truly felt this should've been the end of the franchise. Sadly, that's not the case. Bring on the horrible exorcism/ghost tales........

In today's world, what we "see" is not about story telling, its about making money off of us. They dont give a chit, if u love like or hated it, as long as u payed to see it, thats all that matters.
Their job is to make the perfect trailer. onces they get ur ass in those seats, They pretty much just fuked u over w a chitty movie.
Oh but i love my fans i'll give em wat they want, wat do we get? 3D.. right!!!! 90% of us dont like 3d, and even if we did, that still doesnt make a chitty movie, great!

I'm very excited for this personally, I thought the first one was absolutely fantastic and the promise that this film will be darker and more violent means it will be a different kind of film. Better than the first one or not, it should be interesting and I'm excited to see it. And Eli Roth rocks as a producer so I trust him.

Sorry to say this but the Exorcism films don't work for me. The last film that I saw put me to sleep. I want to be terrified but no... the director's now a days seem only to care about what's in front of them. I want suspence, plot, a great story and awesome acting.
90 % of horror films now are lame, some I do enjoy but the exception of the 10% are excellent.
