HBO has finalized a deal to develop the Oscar-nominated drama The Kids Are All Right as a TV series.

Lisa Cholodenko, who directed The Kids Are All Right and co-wrote the screenplay with Stuart Blumberg, is writing the pilot script. It is said that the series will continue to follow the five main characters, who were played by Julianne Moore, Annette Bening, Mark Ruffalo, Mia Wasikowska, and Josh Hutcherson in the movie. It is highly unlikely that any of these cast members will reprise their roles for the TV series.

The Kids Are All Right producers Jeffrey Levy-Hinte, Gary Gilbert, and Celine Rattray will produce the series alongside Lisa Cholodenko.

No production schedule for The Kids Are All Right TV series was announced.

The Kids Are All Right was released July 9th, 2010 and stars Julianne Moore, Annette Bening, Mark Ruffalo, Mia Wasikowska, Josh Hutcherson, Yaya DaCosta, Kunal Sharma, Eddie Hassell. The film is directed by Lisa Cholodenko.

Usually I back HBO with their moves, I love that premium channel, but this doesn't appeal to me at all.

I don't see the point if the cast doesn't come back. Come on HBO.

This is stupid, if the main cast won't come back then it'll just feel really weird.
