The Jefferson Bottles Comes to HBO

Patrick Radden Keefe is turning his New Yorker article The Jefferson Bottles into a film for HBO. According to Variety, the project will be produced Ben Karlin.

The story follows a billionaire's quest to find out if he was duped into buying a bottle of French wine dating back to 1787, and supposedly belonging to Thomas Jefferson.

Karlin stated, "I just love the eccentricity behind this world -- a billionaire who'd spend that much for wine he was never going to drink and was willing to spend way more for vindication." The film is currently seeking a writer.
