Not the name I wanted to see headlining this film's direction. This man will only prove me wrong with Catching Fire. Here's to a hopeful future.

I'm a bit skeptic about Francis doing this because his films have been hit-and-miss

Why do major book franchises need two parts for the last adaptation? Potter did it, Twilight is finishing it off now, and now Hungers Games is doing it too? Whenever The Mortal Instruments books end (with 5 books now, 2 prequels, I believe two more to come) I wouldn't be surprised to see that span out to 8 or 9 films (depending on how many more the author writes).

He is a good Director, Good for him. Also is great to see that the studio is keeping one director for the franchise, I'm looking forward to see Catching Fire.

@thedude-abides And the only Marvel film's that had a single director was Jon for Iron Man but look where that went. Joss Whedon may well be the only one with Avengers under his belt. Let's be honest, if it's an opportunity, stick with it. Studios can compromise too so...

@bawnian-dexeus Right? You'd think they'd be in it for the long haul, but I guess not. If I'm not mistaken, I think Twilight had a different director for every installment, LOL.

Uhh... how about we see how Catching Fire turns out before we decide on this. We may want Gary Ross back.

@thedude-abides Agreed. It seems that major sequels to come can't seem to land a single director

I'd still like to see how he fares in the 2nd one before I take a stance; still, I think it's wise to get him tied down for the duration of the saga. They already lost one talented director -- best not to lose another.
