James Newton Howard will compose the score for The Hunger Games
Composer James Newton Howard is replacing Danny Elfman as the composer of The Hunger Games score. We reported in August that Danny Elfman was teaming up with T-Bone Burnett on the score, although Danny Elfman was forced to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.

T-Bone Burnett will continue to collaborate on the score with James Newton Howard, and will serve as executive music producer of The Hunger Games. An insider revealed the transition will not affect the post-production work on The Hunger Games.

Danny Elfman is currently working on the score for Men in Black III and Dark Shadows. James Newton Howard is scoring upcoming projects such as Snow White and the Huntsman and The Bourne Legacy.

The Hunger Games was released March 23rd, 2012 and stars Stanley Tucci, Wes Bentley, Jennifer Lawrence, Willow Shields, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Sandra Ellis Lafferty, Paula Malcomson. The film is directed by Gary Ross.

I think that JNH is one of the most underrated composers working today.
