@thedude-abides -- I completely agree. Nicely said, man.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I think it'll be an above average movie at best, yeah. When i say it'll suck, I'm basically saying that in terms of the hype surrounding the film and its expectations. Expectations for this film are enormous. All I've ever said was it's going to be the next Twilight, albeit a slightly better version.
They're of a set now. First it was Potter, then it was Twilight, now it's Hunger Games. Potter opened the door, Twilight kicked it down, and Games is leading the way among the flood of other series adaptations currently underway that are sure to follow.
Studio execs are always looking for the next big thing (aka the next well they're gonna run dry). Now they've found their answer, and the perfect combatant for that matter, to cbm's in terms of box office.
And again I agree with you about Lawrence. I've said numerous times she's the only thing, and I mean the only thing holding this film together -- and even she, for all intents and purposes, is still basically unproven. If Josh Hutcherson wasn't enough of a warning sign for fans going in, I'd like to think Lenny Kravitz would be. But alas, there are those who are willing to overlook those inherent weaknesses because they lack the ability to separate the movie from the source material as two distinct entities. And if I've said it once, I've said it a million trillion times, the source material, amazing as it may be and despite being the basis of the film, is not the film itself. Simple as that.

@thedude-abides -- It's starting to turn in your favor, indeed. I personally believe it will wind up being better than average, though - 5.9-6.0/10 being my prediction, keeping in-mind that Jennifer Lawrence is still intact with the project. How about you?

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx It looks like proof of what I've been saying about this movie for almost a year now.

.... this kind of advertisement ruins me wanting to see the movie in theaters. If it's going to mess with my masculinity, I dunno if I can tolerate it. Yeah, the books put focus on how the Capitol people tried to dress up the Games as if it's an innocent affair, but they seem to be putting too much emphasis on that now. Turned off.
