The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Alternate Trailer
Warner Bros. has released a new, alternate trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, director Peter Jackson's upcoming Middle Earth adventure that takes place before his The Lord of the Rings trilogy. While this is practically identical to the first trailer that debuted in December, there are three brief new bits of footage, with Bilbo's reaction to Gandalf's arrival (0:23), Bilbo hiding in a Mirkwood tree (1:57), and Bilbo, Gandalf, and the dwarves running through the forest (1:59). Check it out.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released December 14th, 2012 and stars Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, Ken Stott, Graham McTavish, William Kircher, James Nesbitt, Stephen Hunter. The film is directed by Peter Jackson.

This trailer was great. It did exactly what it was meant to do. Set a tone for the first Hobbit movie, where the unexpected journey was just that. The Dwarves was on a quest, not only for treasure, but that of glory of a lost home. While Bilbo was a tag along, via Gandalf's trickery of sorts. If you read the Hobbit, then there is little reason you could not like this. The song was in the book, and for once, they actually have the songs from the book, sung on film. Seeing them stand, one by one, as Thorn Oakensheild, starts the song, and join in, is a moving piece. Kinda like when the king of Rohan speaks before the ride on the Pelenor fields.

looks great. i don't know why i didn't like the original trilogy that much. everything about it looked awesome. i didn't like elijah wood at all, but didn't dislike him enough to destroy a whole movie. i'm gonna have to watch LoR trilogy again soon.

This does tell us one important thing: there will not be a title change for the first movie, despite some speculation. It was believed, now that this will be another trilogy set in Middle-Earth (I feel like I'm in heaven every time I say that) that the first installment would be re-titled Riddles in the Dark, while the other two may be The Desolation of Smaug and The Battle of Five Armies. They could have changed the title with this revised trailer, but that clearly is not the case.
And though I think we are overdue for another trailer (which will surely come pretty soon), I liked the new quick shots we get.

Can we just get a new trailer already? You put the first one out in January and we're August now. I think it's safe to say were a bit overdue.
