The Green Hornet Release Date Pushed

Box Office Mojo is reporting that the premiere date of Seth Rogen's The Green Hornet has been pushed 5 months to December 17, 2010 from its original date of July 7, 2010.

HitFix.com spoke with Seth Rogen who said that he and his creative partners Evan Goldberg and director Michel Gondry are "relieved and psyched about the change. It gives more time for post, which would have been immensely rushed if we were to come out in the summer. It also affords us more time to promote the film, (now we can go to Comic-Con with more than a car!) and ultimately is a great vote of confidence from the studio. We got the same date that movies like I Am Legend and Avatar are getting, so we're thrilled to be there."

The original Green Hornet followed the adventures of Britt Reid, a bored playboy whose life is changed when he inherits his father's crusading newspaper, The Daily Sentinel. He saves the life of Kato, a Japanese man with incredible technical and martial-arts skills, who becomes Britt's closest ally -- and transforms Britt's car into the supercharged Black Beauty, which gives them an edge as they search for evidence to expose the city's underworld in the newspaper.

The Green Hornet was released January 14th, 2011 and stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, Tom Wilkinson, Christoph Waltz, David Harbour, Edward James Olmos, Jamie Harris. The film is directed by Michel Gondry.
