The Greatest Movie Ever Sold Trailer

The first trailer has been released for the documentary The Greatest Movie Ever Sold, which will hit theaters nationwide on April 22. Click on the video player below for your first glimpse at the latest movie from director Morgan Spurlock.

From the billboards in Times Square to the barren streets of São Paulo, acclaimed documentarian Morgan Spurlock shines a light on the world of product placement, marketing and advertising through his new film, fully financed by the very product placement the movie explores on screen. With humor and insight, Spurlock unmasks the marketing process, bringing audiences directly into the pitch meetings and marketing presentations which inform our everyday entertainment decisions. From small, family-owned operations to multi-million dollar global brands, Spurlock uses his integrity as currency to sell out to the highest bidder, and garners the kind of large-scale marketing support and promotions customarily reserved for studio blockbusters in an effort to create a first - a "docbuster."

POM Wonderful Presents the Greatest Movie Ever Sold was released April 22nd, 2011 and stars Ralph Nader, Morgan Spurlock. The film is directed by Morgan Spurlock.

Ironic Sony releases this as they are one of the biggest culprits of placement but then again they all are so what the hell. But looking forward to his take like he did with Mcdonalds.

@thedude-abides very true but this guy isnt really your typical Michael Moore type...this is meant to be funny. Spurlock has an interesting sense of humor and for that alone this might be worth checking out.

I know I'm gonna catch a lot of flak for this, but I don't get it. Don't get me wrong, I understand everything he's trying to do, I just don't see the point. Okay, so advertising is the driving force behind marketing. AND? Anybody who's ever watched television or seen a Nascar race can see that. I just don't understand the point of exploiting something that's already in the foreground. Product placement and shameless advertisement is nothing new.
