We just reported yesterday that Carey Mulligan is playing Daisy Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann's upcoming adaptation of The Great Gatsby. The above image comes from the rehearsals that Baz Luhrmann held for the highly-coveted role. Leonardo DiCaprio will play Jay Gatsby in the movie, while Tobey Maguire is expected to play Nick Caraway, the story's narrator.
The Great Gatsby comes to theaters December 25th, 2012 and stars Carey Mulligan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke, Callan McAuliffe, Gemma Ward. The film is directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Mia Farrow's Daisy in the '74 film was utterly annoying. Hopefully Mulligan's performance is less irritating. Daisy was naive to the point where she wasn't the most likable character, but Farrow really cranked up the annoying factor. I wonder who will be cast as Jordan and Tom...I could see Robert Downey Jr. as Tom. He'd be able to pull off his arrogance exceptionally, but perhaps he's too much of a big name to take on such a supporting role.
