Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby! It is too DOPE for words!
— THE BULLITTS (@TheBullitts) December 30, 2012
It isn't known how extensive their involvement in crafting this score will be, since Craig Armstrong (The Incredible Hulk, Ray) is currently credited as the composer. Perhaps Jay-Z and Jeymes Samuel are working on new original songs for the soundtrack, although that has not been confirmed. Jay-Z and Kanye West's song "Church in the Wild" was featured in the first trailer that debuted back in May.
The Great Gatsby was released May 10th, 2013 and stars Lisa Adam, Frank Aldridge, Amitabh Bachchan, Steve Bisley, Richard Carter, Jason Clarke, Adelaide Clemens, Vince Colosimo. The film is directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Really? 10 Thumbs down? Is it because of Jay-Z? 10 f*cking thumbs down all because a genius is composing a film and he is doing what he is best at, yes that seems reasonable. Honestly people, just because it's not James Newton Howard or Hans Zimmer doesn't mean that it wont be good. So I guess you see this man as some ordinary hip hopper with some lousy lyrics and no comprehension of the way of making music, which basicly makes you an imbecile, sorry. This man is a f*cking genius and you should at least give it a go before judging it.

Weird choice. I don't have the best feeling about this. We'll see how it turns out though.

If there's one thing I know I'll hate about this film based on the trailer, it the choice in music.

Thanks for the warning, all the more reason to avoid Baz Luhrmann's raping of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic at all costs.
