Dear Smallville fans,
As news and rumors swirl around the development of The Graysons for the CW, we have every intention of letting you, our fans, be the first to know the reality. Never have we been so committed to the continuing success of Smallville as we are to seasons 8 and 9. While we are extremely excited to be working hand-in-hand with Wonderland, Warner Bros. and the CW to create the origin story of Dick Grayson, it has never been intended as a replacement for Smallville, as is speculated in some media. The cast, crew, writers and producers are all working full-steam ahead on a story-line for Clark that allows for seasons of further trials and adventures for our favorite hero. As always, we all have you to thank for achieving eight years of this amazing show that Al and Miles created, and we're looking far beyond!

Based on what they’re saying, it sounds like the success (or failure) of both The Graysons and Smallville are going to be unconnected. Furthermore, it sounds like they have a concrete plan for at least a ninth season of the show – and my be planning on ways to transform Smallville into a modern-day series about the adventures of Superman.
Smallville airs Thursday nights on the CW. The drama about the early days of Clark Kent stars Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Allison Mack, Aaron Ashmore, Justin Hartley, Cassidy Freeman and Sam Witwer.

There shouldn't be a show called metropolis, that would be a stupid move. You can't make a superman tv show. Anyone remember lois and clark? George Reeves was a tv superman, but what year was that? Plus, it would compete too much with "Superman: the Man of Steel." Smallville is pretty much "metropolis" already. He's there at the daily planet more than he is in smallville. Like comrade said, end the show with clark donning the suit and flying into the skies.

Smallvilee should stay where it is. It's brilliant.

Smallville has run its course and I am not sure a weekly Superman show with the present cast would work. I like Tom and feel he would be an awesome Superman. Maybe move to movies and that could be WB's reboot of the franchise.

I've saying what both Psycho & ComradeHensen stated for the longest time now. Smallville should end with Clark wearing the suit. Once he becomes Superman that will be a whole new chapter in his life and a whole new series to do. 8-9 years of Smallville is enough. End it while it's still good.
As for The Graysons, I'd rather see a live-action series of Batman Beyond instead.

I agree Comrade but maybe end with Clark putting on the suit and fly and help mankind.

I think that Smallville should end with Clark deciding to become superman after a world tour of some kind that opens his eyes. 10th season. Of course, this would mean that Lex Would have to live...

Yes this is good news cause I don't want The Graysons to replace Smallville.

Come on already! A season 9? Are you kidding me!? Peterson and Souders are way over their heads for continuing Smallville longer than originally intended, and 8 seasons seem too much to me.

They should end Smallville after season 8, maybe 9. Then as stated make a new show called Metropolis, and shed a bunch of the excess characters.

This guy needs to wear a Super-Suit soon. By all calculations Clark Kent should be 22 years old this year. When will he be fully developed?
