The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Set for December 2011 Release
Fincher will be directing from a script by Steven Zaillian, which is based off the Stieg Larsson book of the same name. The film will be an Americanized version of the Niels Arden Oplev Swedish version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which was released stateside on March 19.
Our report from yesterday included comments from Sony Pictures chairman Amy Pascal, who indicated that this new film will not only be faithful to the original book, but that they are hoping for a trilogy of films. Stieg Larsson's book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was followed by The Girl Who Played with Fire, the Swedish follow-up film which was released in America on July 9 and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.
We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further news regarding The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its potential American sequels as soon as we have more information.
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was released December 21st, 2011 and stars Daniel Craig, Rooney Mara, Robin Wright, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Christopher Plummer, Joely Richardson, Yorick van Wageningen, Steven Berkoff. The film is directed by David Fincher.
