ridgl, They already made a new Beethoven like last year or so. It looked just like a remake of the Charles Groden version. The new one stared Jonathan Silverman.

Yeah AVATARSEQUAL, I totally thought the same exact thing!

Mmm, Yeah, Macy should be damn ashamed. His career must have taken a dive recently.

As much as I want Owen Wilson to have another hit, I hope that this crashes into the ground and burns beyond al recognition. Wilson needs to get off of the kiddie/doggy train and star making adult comedy movies again. I'm sure soccer moms around the country will take their kids to see it and make it hundreds of millions.

You want to know what I LOATH even more than this movie....Those cash cow Air Bud movies. Those creators need to be stopped, immediately!!!

Something funny just hit me. Ben Stiller played the action guy who made that Drama movie about the mentally challenged boy in Tropic Thunder, which was a parody of a guy who should have stuck to his genre, but didn't and his career suffered, right. Now Ben Stiller is in that movie Greenberg. Let's see what happens. Jim Carrey eventually recovered from The Majestic (which wasn't a bad little movie), but Stiller has been sliding lately. He didn't seem to be really into The Battle of the Smithsonian.

The voice doesn't fit Marmaduke. I expected it to be deeper and dumb-sounding. And wasn't he living with a family in the comics? The only movie with talking animals I am looking forward to is the sequel to Cats vs Dogs.

holy sh*t, i saw the name "brad anderson" and almost threw a fit thinking this was directed by the same guy who gave us session 9 and the machinist, but then noticed "brad anderson" is the name of the guy who created the awful strip that inspired this awful movie.

not really sure how Marmaduke is even a good transition from comic to movie. the only real element that transfers is his tendency to tear up a room. other than that @Emmytt and @ridgl are right - this is no different than any other talking animal movie.
i will say though, watching William H Macy get rung up by Marmaduke twice was pretty funny. And the Dark Park being high school for dogs - pretty funny (dog in purse - "I can't feel my legs anymore" lol). other than that... typical "pet" fare... i pass.
