The Surrogates Trailer
FBI agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves-fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles-enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who's real and who can you trust?
Surrogates was released September 25th, 2009 and stars Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, Rosamund Pike, Boris Kodjoe, James Francis Ginty, James Cromwell, Ving Rhames, Jack Noseworthy. The film is directed by Jonathan Mostow.

you notice the very very first scene the robot has kinda hazely somewhatbrown bueish you cant really tell what color eyes then the face is put on it/her and she has very noticeably huge brown eyes.(not to mention the pupils where way more dilated as well)
they couldnt even pay attention to detail in making this movie/trailor.
no one caught this? they suck.

And if you want to get technical, Robert Vendetti (apparently) wrote the comic book in 2002, two years before I, Robot was released. It didn't hit the shelves, however, until 2005. As for The Matrix dilemma; he hasn't gotten sued yet, and in this country, that means The Surrogates is legit...

True it shares "similar" aspects of I,Robot and The Matrix and I even felt a touch of Minority Report; but it sill looks intriguing and exciting. I will definitely be seeing this; and not just for John McClane.

I wouldn't say original. It's an adaptation from a graphic novel. That goes against the meaning of "original". If you mean the story, then yes, I'll give you that but as it being an adaptation, then no.

It's not even original in the first place. Like I stated before, it's just I, Robot meets the Matrix. Nothing spectacular, just weird.

What if it was a remake, would that defeat your opinion of this being "awesome?"
That's like eating a food you normally wouldn't eat, but you ate it anyway because you didn't know what it was and liked it. Ya still liked it, so does it matter?

Timmy
Is this as original story? not a re-make, re-boot, sequel or whatever? if so awesome.
