Sylvester Stallone has an idea for The Expendables sequel
"If this does perform, I think it will open a little more liquidity in funding the sequel," he said. "I have an idea ready to go. People think doing a sequel is easy, but it's not because you need the element of surprise. I'm going to try to do something that's quite radical."
Stallone wouldn't elaborate what that "radical" idea might be, but it seems this sequel could happen, with box office tracking suggesting the film will open over $30 million this weekend. Stallone also revealed that on-set injuries - including a broken neck - bode well for the success of the film.
"It's a good omen," he explained. "I didn't get a hangnail on the set of Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot."
The Expendables was released August 13th, 2010 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture, Steve Austin, David Zayas. The film is directed by Sylvester Stallone.

Vin Diesel, Wesley Snipes and The Rock fit perfectly with the cast already in place. Create them to be mercenaries and/or former military that join up with the crew. It would be easy to write them in.
Add Norris if you want, but I think he'd be best suited as an old badass from back in the day and not as one of the leading roles. A cameo even. Plus the meme itself might inadvertently belittle the rest of the action stars.

@TheDude1 I grew up in the 80's & Norris has always been a laughable action star and could never be taken serious. Walker Texas Ranger, need i say more? The Rock & Vin Diesel are tough pumped up guys, guys you don't want to mess with. Sure, The Rock has been doing kiddie movies lately, and if he keeps it up he will have no career as an action star anymore & Vin Diesel is a horrible actor and not a favorite of mine, but they are a hundred of times better than Norris in his prime. Norris is so puny and nonthreatening. Casting him in this movie would completely lower the machismo of these movies. Is that insane enough for you? I think not.

@josedrosa I am young. I am still in my 20s and I didn't grow up watching Norris movie. I just started watching them a few years back. All I have to say to people who don't think Norris is a great action star is Invasion U.S.A. In my opinion almost as good as First Blood.

im loving all of the suggestions for people to star in the sequel. especially kurt russell. i think he's one of the most underrated action stars of the 80's/90's. i can totally see him in one of these movies. here's a few more suggestions. just for fun.

You've got to have Chuck Norris in the sequel and Kurt Russell. I doubt you'll get Seagal and Van Damme together and there's no need to put Snipes in this at all.

Jean Claude was offered a role, but PASSED claiming that there was no substance in the character. Steven Segal was offered a role, but PASSED due to negative connections with producer Avi Lerner. Chuck Norris was NEVER offered a role, as it should be! He is the worst and a laughable action star at that! Wesley Snipes was offered the role of Hale Ceasar, now played by Terry Crewes, but couldn't accept because, due to his tax problems, he wasn't allowed to leave the United States without the court's approval. So if this is a success, and they make a sequel, i hope Segal, Van Damme & Snipes are in it this time! Also, Vin Diesel & The Rock would be cool too!
