Sylvester Stallone will not direct The Expendables 2
Back in March, a report surfaced that Sylvester Stallone would be stepping down as director of The Expendables 2. Then, earlier this month, a new story revealed that he would actually come back to direct, since his new acting project Headshot had lost director Wayne Kramer. It was believed that Sylvester Stallone was returning to direct The Expendables 2 because Headshot was going into limbo. However, Walter Hill is now directing Headshot, and the project is once again moving forward with Sylvester Stallone and Thomas Jane attached to star.
David Agosto and Ken Kaufman wrote the screenplay for The Expendables 2, and Bruce Willis will have an expanded role as a "super villain."
The Expendables 2 was released August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Chuck Norris, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The film is directed by Simon West.

@firstavenger oh me too. without a doubt. its not that im not excited about E2, just that i'd like to hear more about the other movie. stallone in a new theatrical release thats not rocky or rambo makes me happy. but trust me. im very excited for E2 as well.

@mattbierwagen I was just going to say that. It's funny and stupid at the same time that the movie pages database doesn't seem to get updated.
But, Sly NOT directing Expendables 2? I thought he had the "eye of the tiger" and that this franchise was his baby. Hmmm. First Jean-Claude Van Damme says he will only star in Exp2 if Steven Seagal is out, and now this. Not liking what I'm hearing... (Although Seagal sucks IMO, he's still an iconic action star along with the others.)

@skywise And even though it probably wouldn't happen, I'd like to see a subplot between Norris's character and Jet Li's character in which Norris's character murdered Jet Li's father who would be played by.. wait for it..... Bruce Lee via pictures Li's character would have.
