Stuntman dies in explosion on the set of The Expendables 2
"It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident. Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident."
The identities of both stuntmen were not released, in consideration of their families. The accident took place during a second unit shoot in Ognyanovo, Bulgaria. Star Sylvester Stallone and director Simon West were shooting first unit in Bankso, Bulgaria, two and a half hours away from Ognyanovo.
The Expendables 2 comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li. The film is directed by Simon West.

For some reason these film shoots in eastern europe have been having a few accidents now and again, much more than studio based stunts. It's been happening over the past few years, but never with a fatality. Too bad.
