The Expendables 2 Officially Gets an R Rating

Director Simon West's action sequel The Expendables 2 has officially been given a R rating. Fans of the action franchise were concerned that the film was going for a PG-13 rating, but those concerns have faded away due to the strong violence, language and brief sexuality in the film. We also have a new banner that lines up all of the action stars. Take a look.

Just found out that The Expendables are giving away a private screening of the movie and some car care stuff too. Looks like they're doing it through Black Magic Car Care so just search for Black Magic Car Care on Facebook and everything is right on their page!

@slysnide then it would make sense to have a rogue Jedi hanging around, hiding out with the "low lifes" I imagine the Jedi would be something like Shepard Book with powers (again with the firefly references)

@skywise: Not necessarily Jedi or Sith. The series takes place between 3 & 4 when the Jedi are on the run/extinct and the only two Sith Lucas stated won't be in the series.

smugglers and bounty hunters i mean.

@slysnide I would love to see a tv show based around a group of smugglers just trying to get by ala Firefly. that would give the show a much more gritty tone and keep costs down. Of course they would have to deal with both Jedi and Sith alike but I like the idea of seeing how "the other side" survives.

@skywise: That's why I'm sure the fans will be counting on Kennedy to get the ball rolling at Lucasfilm. They certainly have the resources to handle their own film projects apart from all the other ones their subsidiaries serve. Fans aren't gonna let this opportunity go by the wayside. The scripts all take place in the Coruscant underground and relate to organized crime, so they could style it like "Blade Runner" which didn't rely on too many visual effects (if any) for the underground like atmosphere of the city.

@skywise@slysnide@mcleve02 If it finally get's into pre-production, I hope they make some good characters. The majority of fans now are going to expect Jedi battles or some Sith involvement if this is between part 3 and 4 of the saga.

@slysnide well then i wont be holding my breath. I understand they want it to measure up to the films visually but that just is not going to be possable although whe it comes to the tech aspect of movie making, very few can do it like Industrial Light and Magic. I have hope we will see it but after reading your last post....i highly doubt it will come to fruition.

@skywise@mcleve02@bawnian-dexeus: Okay, so you guys got the boot too. Good, now I don't have to worry that my new computer's got an issue with this site like the last one did.

@skywise: I agree that the animated crap has gotta stop. George only wanted to do roughly 5 seasons of his "Clone Wars" series, and they just finished season 4 with the return of Darth Maul. The series is running out of steam fast though. The reason the Live Action series hasn't gotten off the ground was cause they estimated each episode was gonna cost around $10mil or so to produce cause of how much they wanted it to measure up the films. They're trying to narrow that to around a million, or it was originally a million and they want it to be less. Cant remember, but George scrapped plans to build a digital film production studio on his ranch, so it seems that even with their 50 scripts written, the project is on indefinite hold. I hope Kennedy changes all that. Lucas will still be an overseer until summer 2013.

@bawnian-dexeus ya i got the boot too. As i was trying to say before i was so rudly booted:

i agree that OR would make a much better movie franchise because they could finally shed all the old trappings. what with the rebellion and the father and son saga. A clean slate as i said before, so really it would be completly up to the imagination of the writers. I want an OR movie so bad but something tells me we arent going to see that.

@skywise@mcleve02 with all the cinematic clips in Force Unleashed, I doubt it would gain buzz or interest. Old Republic or other stories would be the best way to go
